Latest version.
  • (a)

No license issued under the provisions of this article shall be transferred from one (1) person to another, nor shall such license be used at any place except on the premises for which such license is issued. In the event of the death of the licensee, the widow or widower or the next of kin of such deceased licensee, who shall meet the other requirements of this chapter may complete an application to transfer such license to permit the operation of the business of the deceased for the remainder of the period for which a license fee has been paid by the deceased. A copy of the transferred license issued by the State of Missouri must be received before final city approval is granted.

    (b)

If at any time, a licensed business changes ownership, including a substantial change in stock ownership, as in the case of a corporation, then it shall be necessary to apply for a new license in the same manner as for an original license. The Missouri Retail Sales Tax License must match the name of the new entity and follow the licensing requirements under chapter 14.

    (c)

In the event that the office of the managing officer of a corporation licensed under this chapter shall become vacant, it shall be necessary for the corporation to secure a new managing officer who meets the qualifications of section 4-27 and who shall file an application in the same manner as for the original license, provided however, that there shall be no fee charged in connection therewith.
