§ 2-92. Composition; membership, appointment; terms; removal; vacancy; compensation.

  • The city planning and zoning commission shall consist of nine (9) members in compliance with section 89.300 through 90.400 of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri; one (1) of whom shall be a member of the city council, so elected. The member of the city council shall be selected by the council from among its members. The other eight (8) members shall be citizens qualified by knowledge or experience to act on questions pertaining to the development of city planning. The citizen members shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to approval of the council. The terms of all citizen members shall terminate on the first day of July. The council may remove any citizen for misconduct or neglect of duty. Any appointment to fill vacancies shall be for the unexpired term only. All members serve without pay. The city attorney shall be an ex officio advisory member of the commission with no voting privilege and he shall advise the commission of all legal matters. The city attorney shall serve in such capacity without pay.
