§ 21-26. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context indicates a different meaning:

    Asphaltic base course. A foundation course, consisting of mineral aggregate, bound together with asphaltic material.

    Asphaltic concrete. A high quality, thoroughly controlled hot mixture of asphalt cement and well graded, high quality aggregate, thoroughly compacted into a uniform and dense mass.

    Concrete. A concrete of six (6) sacks cement per yard of concrete produced. Its minimum strength at twenty-eight (28) days shall be three thousand five hundred (3,500) pounds per square inch. This shall be termed "class A concrete."

    Residential street. A street on which ninety-five (95) percent of the traffic is automobile or light truck (pickup) traffic or a street in a purely residential area.
