§ 16-7. Signing complaints; administering oaths.

  • (a)

    In addition to the judge, the court clerk shall be authorized to verify any complaint made before such clerk in the place of the normal municipal court judge.

    (b)

    The court clerk shall listen to the complaint made by any complaining person and shall administer an oath to such person stating that the facts recited by the complainant are true and accurate.

    (c)

    The court clerk shall be authorized, in the same manner as the judge, to require the complainant to state under oath that the statements made are true. The clerk shall then sign the complaint form in the proper manner.
