§ 14-261. Examination of application, issuance of license, disapproval.

  • (a)

    If the application for an adult entertainment license is in proper form and accompanied by the appropriate license fee, the city manager shall examine the application, and after such examination, the city manager shall, if the applicant is qualified, approve a license as provided for by law.

    (b)

    The record of the city manager shall show the action taken on the application, and if the license is granted, the city manager shall direct the city clerk to issue the proper license. The license shall state that it is not transferable to other persons or entities and the license period for which it is issued. The license shall be kept posted in a conspicuous place in the place of business that is licensed.

    (c)

    If an application for a license is disapproved, the applicant shall be immediately notified by registered or certified mail to the applicant's last known address, and the notification shall state the basis for such disapproval. An applicant aggrieved by the disapproval of a license application may seek judicial review in a manner provided by law.
