§ 10-32. Purpose.

  • The human rights compliance officer shall review and advise the council on ways to:

    (1)

    Work to eliminate discrimination based on age, ancestry, color, disability, gender, gender identity, marital status, national origin, race, religion and sexual orientation.

    (2)

    Promote responsiveness of government to concerns of all minority groups and others in the community that may be subject to bias or discrimination.

    (3)

    Provide an open and inviting forum for Kirksville residents who believe they are facing discriminatory practices or acts so that residents can share those experiences with the human rights compliance officer for advice and counsel.
